Linux include the kernel, shell, and distribution.
1- Kernel: The kernel is the core component of the Linux operating system. It acts as an intermediary between the hardware and software layers, facilitating communication and managing system resources. It provides essential functions such as memory management, process scheduling, device drivers, and network connectivity.
2- Shell: The shell is the command-line interface through which users interact with the Linux system. It interprets commands and executes them, allowing users to control and manipulate the system. Popular shell options include Bash (Bourne Again SHell), Zsh (Z Shell), and Fish (Friendly Interactive SHell), each offering different features and customization capabilities.
3- Distribution: Linux distributions, also known as distros, are complete packages of the Linux operating system that include the kernel, shell, and a collection of software applications and utilities. Distros vary in terms of their target audience, purpose, default software selection, and user interface. Examples of popular Linux distributions include Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, CentOS, and Arch Linux.
