PIGLatin is basically a procedural language whereas SQL is a declarative language. In PIGLatin, the schema is optional, and in SQL it is mandatory.
We generally use SQL since it is a well-known language for query solving and manipulating structured data and also it is standard language for working with relational databases. Whereas PIG Latin is specifically used for Apache Hadoop-based systems, where data processing is distributed across multiple nodes. Moreover SQL used over PIG Lating because it provides advanced analytical capabilities. Also one of the main reasons could be because SQL has been a familiar language and the other is more specialized language that requires additional learning and familiarity.
