The “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute” message in WordPress appears when the site is undergoing updates or maintenance. It is meant to ensure the update process is completed safely. However, sometimes the message remains even after the update is finished.
To resolve this issue, you can delete the “.maintenance” file located in the root directory of your WordPress installation using file manager or by connecting your website via FTP. After deleting the .maintenance file, the maintenance mode should be disabled, and your site should become accessible again. Also, clearing your browser cache and cookies, checking site URLs, and deactivating recently updated plugins can also help.
If the issue persists, seek assistance from your hosting provider or a WordPress developer. Regular backups are recommended to reduce the potential issues during updates or maintenance.
