To delete a table in Azure SQL Database, you can use the following SQL command:
DROP TABLE [schema_name].[table_name];
Replace
[schema_name]
with the name of the schema that the table belongs to (usuallydbo
for the default schema), and[table_name]
with the name of the table you want to delete.Here’s an example of how you can delete a table named
Employees
in thedbo
schema:DROP TABLE dbo.Employees;
USE
statement.DROP TABLE
statement followed by the table name.To delete a table in an Azure SQL Database, you can use the Transact-SQL (T-SQL) DROP TABLE statement.
Connect to your Azure SQL Database using a tool of your choice, such as Azure Data Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, or the Azure portal.
Select the appropriate database where the table exists.
Open a new query window or a query pane for the selected database.
Write the following T-SQL statement to drop the table.
Replace “TableName” with the actual name of the table you want to delete.
Execute the query by running it. The table will be deleted from the Azure SQL Database.
Please note that the DROP TABLE statement permanently deletes the table and all its data. Make sure to double-check the table name before executing the query, as there is no undo operation once the table is deleted.
